Get excited with me.

Have you ever gotten so excited about a new book, that you wanted to start a webpage and design the cover?

I first called it Dancing in the Stars,Then Song of the Body. But there's only one possible name for it, "That Girl." Check out the blurb and tell me what you think. I've even put a tab for easy access. While you're at it, you could check out my Bum's Rush page. I'm dumping the webpage. I like the blog page better. It's easier and more fun.

2 wk Hiatus

Did you miss me? First of all I want to thank all of you for all your comments--so helpful. I love my virtual and virtuous friends.

I feel like I can take a breather now. I know my book still needs a little revision, but I'm printing it out for my husband to read. I want a completely biased review to begin with. Then I need to get it proofed because, as you have probably noticed, my punctuation isn't always good. This is due to a mental block and commas are my main downfall.

I finally got my printer to work. Not that it didn't work before, but it took me awhile to find and download the drivers for it. It's a few years old, but works wonderfully.

Now I'm wondering what to write. I'm not like a lot of you. Ideas for a story aren't flooding my mind, popping out the top of my head, or even present inside my brain.I don't have a backlog I can access. So I sat with my hands hovering over the keyboard last night, and had a thought. It's not fully, or even partially developed and I don't know if I have it in me to write. It's going to be futuristic and I'm going to write it in first person. I suppose the genre for futuristic is fantasy, and I want to add lots of suspense. I could also make it an YA. At this point, I haven't decided how old my MC will be. I know it will be a man.

I like writing in a man's POV. I'm not that in tune with my psychic to tell you why. I guess because I like men and I can mold a male MC into anything I want him to be. And no offense to my men friends, but men are much less complicated than women--IMHO.

I'm thinking of having a celebration give away. I have two books I can give away. No, not mine. It's far from the finish line. I still have to write a synopsis, a cover letter, and a query. I might pop over to the Public Query Slushpile and other helpful blog sites in the blog-sphere to get me through that. No, I have two Christian YA books, never been read. I've never had a giveaway, so I'm going to do a little research on how to do it.

So, I hope everyone has a happy and productive weekend. Stay safe, and God bless.

How Present the Past

Many of you have given me some good advice on my current WIP, Bum's Rush. Thank you. One piece of advice, heard many times from different people, is to get away from it and write something else.

My first WIP, a work I started six years ago, now, has been on my mind. It's the novel I cut my teeth on. The one I allowed to be critiqued, the one I finished at least twice. I got it out the other day and started rereading it. Lo and behold, it's darn good writing. When I thought about it, it should be, I mean I nurtured it for five years before I put it aside for Bum's Rush. So there you have it. The name of this piece is, How Present the Past. Just so you know. You can watch my progress on my Bum's Rush page.

My past, boring as it was.

I'm a small town girl, which didn't exactly prepare me for a world of drugs, alcohol, and flashing. Since I grew up in the sixties, I quickly, and once exposed to college life, greedily, learned about corruption of one's self. Still, I've never flashed. Thank God those days are gone.

Since third grade when my teacher told me I should grow up an be an author. I used to tell people, when they asked, I wanted to be an author. Somewhere down the road, I forgot that ambition and fell into a stereotypical life of doing what was expected of me.

Motherhood rapidly followed wifehood and birth control made it possible for me to enter into the new era, "The Working Mother." Not that I was ever career oriented, I was just a poor wife and mother.

Mr. right finally came along and has been my best friend and husband for almost twenty years. When you've got the best, well, I'm keeping him.

Thirty years ago, I became a "Born Again Believer." I don't know, should that be capitalized. Aw well. Then sometime five or so years ago, I remembered my ambition to be an author and started my first book. I finished it, but on rewrite I realized I’d written three books in one and started my second book, which is almost completed. It’s called Bum’s Rush for now. You can read the blurb on this blog.
